In Tuesday we created brand new "bug books" so that we could have a log in which to record drawings and observations that we take on our bug walks throughout this new unit. Each child wrote his or her name on their new bug book and then picked their favorite bug to draw. Some kids looked at drawings I had made for inspiration and then others looked and observed the illustrations from books. Using other's drawings as inspiration helped children break down the bugs into simple shapes which they are now able to easily copy. Drawing in a step-by-step way enabled the Tel Aviv kids to draw some pretty amazing drawings. Check out all the kinds of bugs we can draw!
