Planting Grass Seeds

Learning to follow two step directions takes some thought and patience. In order to plant the grass seeds, the children first scattered handfuls of seeds on the soil. Secondly, they sprayed the seeds with water using a spray bottle. As they get older, we observe how competent they are in handling the spray bottle in directing the mist.

Welcome to Spring!

It finally feels like Spring outside and in the Keshet class!  Today, the children used watercolors on white coffee filters to make the start of what will be a beautiful spring bouquet.  The watercolors are different from the poster paint they are used to working with.  The colors are lighter and they had to get used to the extra step of having to dip their small paintbrushes in water before swirling it around in the paint.  They did get the hang of it and produced some beautiful artwork.

Stop and Smell the Roses!

Today we had the pleasure of receiving flowers that were left over from an event at the temple. We placed this beautiful arrangement in a vase, on the shelves near our rug. The children could look at them, feel, smell and touch the flowers. This made us all feel like spring was really in the air; in addition the weather was wonderful! Throughout the day, we saw some children smelling the gorgeous flower bouquet and enjoying their bright colors.
