Fridays In the Sanctuary

A major goal of Jewish early childhood education is to nurture in children the development of a strong, positive, warm Jewish identity and a love for Judaism. We strive to foster in them the desire and the ability to grow into a Jewish adults who are proud of their heritage and happy and able to participate in Jewish life. At TBSCC each Friday in our sanctuary, we aim to instill this pride and love of Judaism.

Sharing Shabbat

It is always exciting to see moms, dads, grandparents and babysitters arrive at the sanctuary doors to join us for Shabbat.  We sang and welcomed Shabbat with Rabbi Todd, Matt and many special guests.

Checking out What's Different...

Despite having very limited time to talk about it, most of the Haifa students knew that this weekend was Rosh Hashanah, and that it meant that it was the "birthday of the world." Today during circle, the Haifa students were joined by a very special guest, Rabbi Lenke, and Rabbi Lenke took us on an impromptu field trip...to the sanctuary!! We spent a lot of time in the sanctuary discovering what is different about it right now as opposed to the times not during the High Holy Days. We were also lucky enough to peek into an animal-less ark filled with white covered Torahs! Rabbi Lenke showed us which ones are read on which days, and how the Torah is a book, but not like the books that we read. We are hoping that sometime soon we can see what the Torah looks like when we unroll the scroll!! Thank you Rabbi Lenke for taking time out of your busy day to help us discover the differences about our surroundings during this special time of year.
