Remember that scared-excited feeling of trying something new? As we unpacked and set up the new water slide the giggles and careful concentration reminded me that going on a new slide, especially one with a water sprinkler, would be a new and unfamiliar experience for many. Ally stepped in to offer advice and a guiding hand as children attempted to climb the stairs. Then Lauri and Jesse stood on the sides to offer support for sliding down. After getting through that first scary slide down, they all decided to go for another round..and another...and another. About half of the children were ready to try right away. Many others have said they want to try it tomorrow. Stay tuned to see them in action.
