Cousin Fun Time!

Today some of the Kochavim class joined the Tel Aviv class for some block making fun! It was so great to see the cousin pair of Josh Van Dam and Jacob Shaw playing and working together. Both boys were so happy to see the other and were able to include the other in their games and activities. It's so much fun to share time with cousins at school!!

1 + 1 = 5 ??? WHAT ????

J.B. and Sam selected a couple of books to read to the class last week.  It was not Sam's birthday, thou children asked. It was just a special sharing of time. Thank you J.B. for sharing your time. Sam selected two books: 1 + 1 = 5 by David LaRochelle. The title immediately was received with "no it doesn't. But as one reads the author challenges us to look carefully at the illustrations. For example: 1 Unicorn and 1 goat = 3 Horns. Then J.B. read Monsters Eat Whiny Children. J.B. shared that he thought our very own Eric Kaplan as the author of this book is Bruce Eric Kaplan. We learned that Eric was not related to him. This is a funny story, reminiscent of the tale of Hansel and Gretel. J.B. asked the children if they believed monsters were REAL, to make sure everyone would feel safe in reading this book. It starts off with 'once there were two perfectly delightful children who were going through a terrible stage.' Though they are taken by two monsters, monsters ended up arguing about how to prepare them, and they escaped to safety. J.B. provide us with 'different' voices, thus why he was holding his nose as he assumed a different character. Thank you J.B. for coming to read to us and Samuel for sharing dad.
