Some Kochavim friends were working on coloring their hopes and dreams strips that their parents wrote for them. I read Adam's strip to him which included a phrase on how his parents are hoping that he finds, "joy in his friendships." Adam immediately drew a picture of Molly and then asked me to write her name. I knew that Adam knew the letter "M" because it is in his name. So he made the "M" first. Then he made a circle for the "O," which was something he knew how to do. After that he got stumped and wanted me to write the rest of her name. I then pointed out to him that Molly was sitting next to him and that she could help him with the other letters! He watched her name them and then wrote them on his own strip. He was so proud when her whole name was written! Now not only can he write Molly in the Kochavim's class' name but he can write Molly his babysitter's name as well! Wow! Then he needed to write Charlotte and he went up to Charlotte and asked her to write her name on his strip. It was neat to see so much literacy develop in our creative process. All the Kochavim kids were working hard to relate their pictures to their families and friends at school and though that connection they each practiced a lot of writing! Also friends were helping each other with the writing process and using each other as a resource! They now know enough that they can ask each other for help rather than always asking an adult. I am so excited to watch how their learning and friendships continue to grow. Way to go Kochavim!

Muffins for a Feast!

Yesterday the Tel Aviv class received a very important delivery! The Kochavim class invited them to a Thanksgiving feast!! We talked about how feasts involve lots of food and that the Tel Aviv class should make something yummy to bring with them to the feast. We decided that we know that we are excellent muffin makers and that we could bring some pumpkin muffins with us! Today we worked on making delicious mini-pumpkin muffins. We all took turns doing steps to make sure that everyone had the opportunity to contribute to the muffin making process. The Tel Aviv class are expert muffin makers and didn’t really even need that much help. They even carried the muffin trays to the community room with no spills! Awesome work Tel Aviv class we are excited to eat and share the delicious treats tomorrow!

Good times!
We had an intimate lunch full of conversation and chatter! Jacob brought his ABC cookies and spread them out on the table (as he does each and everyday). Rachel asked him, "What does that spell?" His silly response was, "Foo, foo, fa, fa!" Eli said," It really spells goop, goop, la, la loop!" After we finished our lunch we had some "peace-out time and then made some gak with the Kochavim children.

Cousin Fun Time!
Today some of the Kochavim class joined the Tel Aviv class for some block making fun! It was so great to see the cousin pair of Josh Van Dam and Jacob Shaw playing and working together. Both boys were so happy to see the other and were able to include the other in their games and activities. It's so much fun to share time with cousins at school!!
Singing Together!
Today the Tel Aviv and Kochavim class spent time together singing with Josh! It was fun to all sing songs together and even though we usually sing with Josh at different time we all have a common vocabulary of knowing certain songs that we sing with Josh. It was great to have so many voices sining together and the Kochavim class encouraged the Tel Aviv kids to use loud, strong voices. Singing together was fun!
Peer Teaching!
Today the Tel Aviv children had the opportunity to spend some quality time with the Kochavim children. Sam and Oliver taught the Tel Aviv children how to build traps with the big wooden blocks. Then Eli and Jacob decided to make ramps for the toy cars. Building with the big blocks was both challenging and fun!
