Rain, rain, go away...

Although the rain stopped, the playground and toys were fairly well soaked due to the past few days of precipitation.  So...the Rainbows decided to head to the Community Room for some active play.  We found a lot of scooters to ride on and experiment with.  Some scooted on bellies, some on their bottoms, and others turned the scooters into "luggage" for their train and airplane travel.  The handles made it easy to carry the suitcases around the room.

After playing so actively, the children spontaneously gathered in the center of the room and quietly examined their scooters and enjoyed just being together.  They discovered that some of the wheels could swivel, while others didn't - making turns on those scooters a bit of a challenge.  The swivel wheels allowed for spinning as well.  The kids may not realize it, but they conduct physics experiments regularly at school.

  1. I love how they seem to have gathered together in little groups. Sounds like a morning of active learning!
