In our exploration of leaves, we noticed that one side is darker than the other. We decided to use a hammer to see if the color could be painted somehow on the paper. As Sam was pounding he decided to smell the leaf and discovered that one particular leaf had a smell when smashed but not so much when it wasn't smashed. Some leaves had more of a smell than others? I wonder why. We discovered that the darker pigmented side of the green leaf came off on the paper and created some beautiful designs. The other dull colored side did not shed the color so much. I wonder why. Some of the flowers worked better than others in transferring the color to the paper. I wonder why.
