On the balance beam

From the time they are babies, to when their abilities stabilizes around age of 10, children need to practice balancing activities. For babies, balancing involves holding up their heads and then sitting up. For our TBSCC kids, finding new ways of challenging them to gain better control of their bodies is an involves ongoing planning and an ever-changing environment. Maria and the Kohavim class built this balance beam for the playground during the final week of school.

Balance beam activities help children strengthen core muscles and their legs while also developing a stronger sense of balance. As you can see from the video, balancing on the long, thin beam is no easy task!
