A Gragger On A Stick!

Mia came up with a new way to make graggers! The teacher put out empty water bottles, buttons, and colored tape in the art center. After Mia placed the buttons in the bottle, she asked me for a popsicle stick. She then asked me to poke a hole in her bottle and pointed to where she wanted the hole. Mia pushed the stick through the hole and then secured it with tape. Ta da! There you have it...a gragger in a stick! All of her friends loved her idea! Everyone made a gragger on a stick! We will continue making graggers/noise-makers next week. Mia- thanks for sharing your idea with us.

Entrepreneurs In the Making

One of the many gifts we can provide our children is the freedom to experiment, think differently, and the opportunity to take safe risks within their world.

First came the idea, the vision to create something different. "I want to make a new water machine," said Samuel. After some connecting and disconnecting of the pipes, Samuel decided he wanted some help. It just wasn't working exactly the way he wanted it to work. He did not give up, but instead said "I need someone to help me."

Joshua came over to offer assistance. Samuel shared his vision for what he wanted the "new" machine to do. They collaborated and soon the construction of the new machine was under way! Finally, Samuel exclaimed "It's working, the water is coming out both ends." Job well done boys!
