Six towers in all!

Jake, Rylan, had Zack spent the entire peace-out time building this intricate detailed tower! As I followed this story I was taken back by all the excitement, passion and focus the boys had as they were building one tower at a time.

After the third tower went up Jake was determined to keep the tower standing as he planned to add on and see how many towers he and his friends could build! As Jake built he took on the challenging task of protecting and guarding the structure so it would not get bumped and fall down (the rug was a busy place and this could easily happen).

When it was time to clean up and go outside the boys completed "six towers"! They all were so proud of the towers! Before we went outside we asked the boys to share with us how they constructed their amazing towers. They walked us through the process and then they said, if they had all the magnetiles in the school they would be able to build a "two million towers in all"! I would love to see that!

Tel Aviv Picnic Party!!

The Tel Aviv class had such a great time playing outside today that they all asked if we could stay outside for longer, and Lauri and I decided that more outside play was a great idea! The class had an opportunity to play a bit more on their own, which was a nice opportunity for the children to bond. I noticed many kids less inhibited to play, laugh and run around, which I suspected was because there were fewer children on the playground. We had an outside picnic sack followed by songs and a story. We even sang our morning circle song, as a morning square song! Fun times were had all around and it was amazing how focused and engaged every child was in our outside circle. I am sure looking forward to our field trip to the field this Friday for even more outside play!!

Sewing 101 Class ~ The Anticipation

January 18th was fast approaching. Teacher Alison Hirschen has been thinking and planning in eagar anticipation of her teaching debut. She needed other essential items to complete her vision. Clearly she wanted to be prepared so she asked Miss Maria : "Do you have a sewing machine and needle?" the week before the sewing class.
It has been truly an amazing thrill to be a witness to this process of reflection and follow thru!! Stay tuned.
