This morning the Levana children were downstairs and the Keshet children invited them to join our circle time. Both groups were happy with the impromptu arrangement as we settled ourselves on the rug. We shared the morning songs of both classes and talked a little bit about the Keshet shabbat Thursday celebrations. Mary Ann brought out a wonderful book and puppets that represented the characters in the story. The story revolves around the ingredients for Bubbe's noodle kugel. Perhaps your child will explain to you that "Bears don't live in Brooklyn!"...

Sweet as Shabbos
Ellen came into our Sunshine room today to perform a puppet show with characters from the storybook Once Upon a Shabbos. She left the puppets for us to play with and we immediately took on the roles of Bubbe, Jacob, Shiva, Zayde and the Bear.
So if you hear the following lines at your house, know they come from the story:
"Give me your honey or I will eat you up! (The Bear's line) or
"Are you meshuga? There are no bears in Brooklyn. (Bubbe's line)
"Honey, honey, sweet as Shabbos" (Song)
