Tie-dye!

We have been working hard to prepare for the Shalom Party on the last day of school!  We practice our song and movements, and we are preparing special outfits, too.  Working with Livi, the students took turns squirting colorful dye on our new tied-up t-shirts. They focused on the task at hand to make sure they got the dye all over the fabric.  Right now, the shirts are a reddish color.  We can't wait to see what they'll look like when the dye is rinsed out, and we put them on!

To Dye For

We always admire the willingness of the children to try new things. With a little support and encouragement, most of the Rainbows were willing to don a long-sleeved smock and some very large and strange looking gloves in order to tie-dye shirts for our upcoming Shalom Party. Madison was in the vanguard, stepping up with an "I want to do it!" We can't wait to snip the rubber bands and see our designs.

Tee Shirt Tie Dying

Ellen came in to our classroom to begin the process of tie dying tee shirts. Sara, Eli and Ryan wrapped rubber bands around the shirts and placed them in a solution. Later this week, we will add the dye and voila...
The shirts are for our special end-of-the-year gathering next Wednesday
