A Visit from the Fire Department

We were all gathered outside, in front of the building, when we heard the sirens. Then we saw it! A fire engine pulled right into the parking lot and parked by the front door. Then another, and another, and another! Hands started waving, big grins filled their faces, and the children shouted, "Hi, fireman!" When the firefighters were done working inside the building (we were glad to learn it had been a false alarm) we were treated to an impromptu firetruck lesson. The firefighters invited us into their truck. The steps were so high, they lifted us inside. Then it was time for a tour of the outside of the trucks. "What's that?" asked Drew and the firefighter explained how the hoses hook up to the water valves to help them put out the fires.

More pictures of our fire truck experience.
