In the Unicorn classroom, today we further our conversation about different holidays we celebrate as Jewish Americans, and began to talk about how Jewish people in other countries celebrate holidays that are specific to their own countries. Last week, we talked in depth about Israeli Independence Day and the United States Independence day. How we celebrate both because, of who we are and where we live. This week, we have been talking about Jewish people who live in Mexico, and how they celebrate the holiday of Cinco de Mayo. The class looked online together and found interesting pictures of children celebrating the holiday, Jewish day schools, snacks children eat in school, and other activities that Jewish children do. Today for snack, we made quesadillas and it was a HIT!
Great to see them piling on all those veggies! I love the idea of the make your own quesadilla bar...I bet that encouraged them to try adding the various veggies. What a healthy snack!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! Can't wait to talk about it with Micah. Thanks to the blog I actually have a clue about what goes on in class...since I have a son that does not want to share anything with me!!
ReplyDeleteI heard today that Nathan ate sour cream. First time! :)
