Singing with Friends

Thanks, Levana class, for again including the Keshet class in your music time with Josh. This is a real treat for the Keshet children, who are becoming great singers and who really enjoy Josh, his songs, and his special guitar. It is an adventure for the Keshet children to climb the stairs and spend time in another classroom; the Levana class is always so gracious that we feel right at home! As year-end nears and we think about transitioning, we welcome opportunities to explore other classrooms and to mingle with friends, both new and old. Today we learned two new 'old favorite' songs, Kookaburra, and You Get a Line and I'll Get a Pole, both great fun to sing.

Etzim Welcome Spring with Nancy and Josh

Yesterday we were springing around (the girls are holding springs) with Nancy, followed by Jumping around with Josh today.  It's been an active two days and we have been having a wonderful time welcoming Spring through dance and song!  It has been wonderful to watch the growth in our gross motor abilities, our attention span, and our relationships with Josh and Nancy as the year as progressed!

Shalom to Jammin' with Josh!

It was so fun to sing and dance with Josh this week! We were excited to hear some of our favorite songs from Josh and some new one's too! We are working on a new song called Shalom  and so many kids knew the song from last year and Josh's CD. We learned how to make a peace sign using two fingers. We are excited to keep on jammin' as the year continues!

Making Music With Josh

Musical Morning

Something new for the Keshet class today! We began our morning by joining our Levana friends in their classroom for music time with Josh. This was an enjoyable event for the children, who are now comfortable travelling to visit other classes, and meeting new adults who come to share music and movement with us. Josh chose lots of upbeat music for us to sing along with and dance to, including Happy, The Wheels on the Bus, Dance Party, and My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean. The children who already knew Josh were excited to see him, and those meeting him for the first time were delighted. Thanks Josh, and thanks Levana, for hosting!

Jamming with Josh.

Monday is always a super fun day to jam with Josh!  The Etzim class and the Shamayim joined up to enjoy the always spirited dancing and singing!  It is always such a pleasure to combine with other classes in the children's center.  After music, Etzim, Shamayim and the Tel Aviv class gathered in the community room to continue the singing and dancing with our havdalah celebration.  It was a quite a day filled with music, movement and joy!

Etzim/Shamayim Party!

As always, the Etzim class had wonderful time singing along with Josh and the Shamayim class.  It may seem early, but we started learning some Hanukkah songs today. We won't see Josh again until next month, so we need to start practicing.  Here we are spinning dreidels!

Mixing it up with Josh!

Josh had to reschedule his visit to the Children's Center this week, and today was our lucky day! Before school started, the Haifa and Unicorn teachers got to talking, and decided we would share our time with Josh. The Haifa class eagerly knocked on the adjoining door of our classrooms and invited the Unicorns into our classroom. We got to spend a good half hour practicing our songs for the Shalom Party, and seeing some Josh favorites!

So Much Fun Outside Time!!

The Tel Aviv class spent almost the first two hours of school today outside! Kids were loving the beautiful weather and thought it was so neat that all they needed were their sweatshirts! The teachers thought that the weather was so good that we should have a special outside havdalah. Rachel is our stick person this week and did a great job of holding the candle high for everyone to see. After a bit more playtime our friend Josh came to sing with us outside. It was so fun to have both structured and unstructured time outside. I noticed that the group was more focused and sang louder sitting in the fresh air. We are so excited to have such beautiful weather all week long! Yay springtime!

We're happy!. Happy, happy happy so happy!

On Monday the Unicorn children were delighted to jam with Josh and the Sunshine class! This was especially fun as it followed Josh's concert on Sunday, that many of our friends attended. Josh shared some great songs with us, got us up dancing, and got lots of good-bye hugs from his fans! We've been listening to Josh's CD in our classroom all week, at the Unicorn's request.

Fun with Josh!!

The Tel Aviv class had so much fun singing with Josh today! Josh had special shakers that make the sound of brushing your teeth. The Tel Aviv class had fun shaken' and opening their mouths wiiiiiiide open so that all their teeth could be "brushed." Who knew that teeth brushing could be so fun!
