A Unicorn Seder

The Unicorn children cannot get enough of the Passover song "Oh Listen." This was a spontaneous pre-seder version. Here are some pharoahs saying "no, no, no."The day before our seder we sampled the foods we would find on a seder plate. We also chopped apples for charoset.

Julia read the Haggadah while we all enjoyed our seder together. Harper's Mom, Stacey, brought some delicious charoset. It was a lot of fun having Stacey and Kira join us. We hope your Passover seder was as memorable as our was! Thanks for joining us Stacey!

Passover Preparations

Today was a day filled with Passover preparations. We started out day with a hunt for the Afikoman. Micah was so excited to find the last piece! We then searched for all the chametz in our classroom. We have a lot as we store some of the snack supplies in our closets! We pu all the chametz in one closet and tomorrow we'll tape it up until Passover is over.
We finished our day with a visit from Rabbi Jay, who told us the Pesach story. The Unicorns love when Rabbi Jay comes to visit, and were proud to share their Passover knowledge with him! Thank you, Rabbi Jay.

Colorful connections!

Max measured his chain, and was happy to announce it was longer than him!
Over the past two weeks, the Unicorn class has been hard at work with the link connectors in our classroom!  We have multiple sets of hard plastic chain connectors and softer colorful rings that our students have been using to create chains of all different sizes.  These connectors are a great facilitator of development in the fine motor skills of our three year olds.  Fine motor activities encourage the development of eye-hand coordination and help children practice the skills required to handle or manipulate small objects with their fingers.  Additionally, our students have begun to create patterns with the colors and have been able to recreate patterns we provide for them. Patterning is an essential skill in early learning, particularly in the development of spatial awareness, sequencing and ordering, comparison and classification and of course, it is a lot of fun too!

The Unicorns get a visit from Rabbi Jay!

Today, the Unicorn's received a visit from Rabbi Jay to teach us a little about Rosh Hashanah!  Rabbi Jay told us how we can say Happy New Year by saying shana tova to our friends and family!  We can blow the shofar, and we can use our bodies too!  We had a fantastic time learning with Rabbi Jay!
