The Chester Report!

We had a very busy morning on Monday!  With the delayed opening we did not have time to read the Chester Report in the morning program.   Noah was so excited to read Chester's Journal with his friends we decided to read Chester's Journal in Lunch Bunch.
Noah took Chester out and held his hand with Zach and Elias.  They were all ready to listen to Noah and Chester's story.

It's always so special for all the children when Chester comes out to play.  Often in Lunch Bunch the children have the opportunity to visit and play with Chester.  Elias noticed Chester had a "boo, boo" on his tail.  Elias asked me if we could put a bandage on Chester's tail.   Noah and Elias carefully put the bandage on Chester's tail.
Josh is the leader of the week and will get to bring Chester home with him for the entire February vacation!  Maybe at some point over vacation Josh and a member of his family can fix Chester's "boo, boo" with a needle and thread.   I don't know who is more excited for Chester's visit, Josh or Jen (Josh's mom)!

Just as we were finishing up with Noah's detailed report of his adventures with Chester  his Aunt and Uncle arrived,  as it was dismissal time!   What a nice surprise...  Noah was so happy to see them!  He showed them around the classroom , they met Noah's friends and checked out Noah's Journal.

Chester's social life is very, very  BUSY!   That guy really gets around!

I have an IDEA !!!

It all started with Teddy Fox telling me he wanted to make a birthday card for his brother's birthday. His brother likes sports and he asked if we had any stickers. Luckily we had some stickers w/ hockey, his brother's favorite sport!! Then other children wanted stickers too. As we weren't anticipating this request, there weren't a lot of stickers available. Well, what could we do? Jesse said that he had an idea; he wanted to make his OWN stickers. Great idea, but how was  HE going to do that? He came up with using TAPE. He explained the process. First you draw what you want, cut it out, cut the tape, fold it, and put it on the back and viola you have a sticker!! Teacher Jesse had many students. See following blog. Thanks Jesse!!!

The arrival of a new baby...

Grayden shared some big news with us today. His baby sister Mischa Alexandra Loeb was born this weekend! Grayden shared a picture with us that showed him holding Mischa in his arms at the hospital. We read a book called I'm a Big Brother during circle time. We heard about the things that babies do and how we can care for them. During our play today, several children enjoyed holding, dressing, comforting, and caring for our classroom babies.

A Letter To My Mom...

During peace-out time the children have the opportunity to write/draw in their journals and or use our fancy stationary to write notes or letters.

Eli walked over to me today and asked, "Lauri would you please help me write my mom a special letter?" I told Eli, "It would be my pleasure!" He said, "Great!"

Eli's Letter To His Mom...

Dear Mom,
Thanks for being my best friend.
Love,Eli
xo
Eli said, "Lauri do you know what the xo means?" I said, "No what does it mean?"

"Kisses and lots of hugs!"

Splish Splash we were taking a bath!

The Tel Aviv children had the opportunity to bathe their dolls in the sensory table today. Brushes and cups were placed so that the children could poor water on their dolls to clean them. Molly loved caring for the doll and was so gentle brushing both the baby and her own Ariel doll from home. Lily, Eliza and Hannah worked together to bathe their dolls. It was great to see their teamwork!

Taking care of our TBSCC babies!

The babies were in very good hands today. The children made sure the babies were clean as they all took a nice long bath. Lizzie went around and fed all the babies some warm milk and when they woke up from their nap, the babies went on the swings.

Nurturing

Amidst all of the excitement of our celebration of Purim this morning, the Rainbows found time to lovingly tuck their babies and the people in under their blankets for a tender kiss good night.

Don't tell Anybody~ but I AM listening to you mom!!!

We don't always think our children are listening to us as we try to provide them with life lessons such as an appreciation of our spiritual gift of prayer.
Well today imagine this touching moment...

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn around...
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground...
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, show your shoe...
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, go upstairs...
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say your prayers....

Immediately our friend, Eli started reciting the Shema
"Shema Israel, Adonai Elohanu, Adonai

Many times we don't think our children our listening to us, but this is just one example that they are. What a beautiful moment!!!

Extending comfort

We were getting reading to read a story for morning circle. Rachel was feeling she needed a friend and some special cuddling space, so she asked Sadie "Can I sit on your lap?" Sadie said "sure".
It is such a gift for us to be witnesses to the kindness and love extended to one another by classroom friends.
