Water is a readily available, inexpensive material that young children enjoy. Although children make discoveries through unorganized water play, more varied opportunities to learn about water are provided when you help them focus on specific aspects of water play. We have found that children will remain at a water table for long periods of time when they are investigating a problem suggested by the teacher, a classmate, or a new discovery.
Today while Sam playing with water, bottles and tubes Sam made a new discovery when he created a "WATER MACHINE!" I asked Sam, "What does a water machine do?" Sam replied "It takes water places!" Laura asked Sam another interesting question, "How did you come up with this idea to make a Water Machine?" Sam replied, "Because that is the right idea!" Sam, we want to thank you for sharing your discovery and findings with all of us!
Wow! Cool machine, Samuel!
