Mornings on the playground have provided us with lots of time for exploration of natural materials such as twigs, sand, and mulch. The open ended nature of these materials has been ground for very creative imgainary play. This week Leo and Alyssa were busy baking in the in the sandbox when the ingredients turned silly. "Let's make swordfish! We'll put frosting it!" But Leo wasn't fooled. "You can't put frosting on swordfish," he declared. "Just salt and pepper!" Then he moved on to the climbing structure where he worked with Jesse and Eli on baking a cake. Now he had a place for all that frosting!
