where's the slide?

Today we took a field trip to Avery Park.  The children were so excited to go to the park and really enjoyed our walk.  We got an extra treat when we began walking down Webster St.  The construction vehicles were in full swing.  We saw diggers and front loaders and workmen IN THE GROUND!

When we arrived at Avery Park, Brett exclaimed "Where's the slide?"  They all stood there - frozen - as Judi and I explained that it was a field and that they could do whatever they wanted.  About 10 seconds passed and suddenly their imaginations took flight and they were off.  They dug in the baseball field, took a "hike" through the rocky path, did lots of running and created a jail by some shaddy rocks where both Judi and I were sent on separate occasions.  Fortunately, it was a really nice jail that served pizza, soda and fruit so we weren't too anxious to leave.

When it was time to head back to school, the children couldn't believe how fast the time went.  We had a blast!!
