Home-To-School-Connection!

Displaying images from children's home and family life in the early childhood environment creates a continuous reminder of the home-to-school connection. These photos can be displayed in a variety of ways, such as plastic frames, photo stands, notebook binders, bulletin boards. Some of these images should be portable so that children are free to move around and incorporate them into their play or turn to them when they need comfort or reassurance.

As the children transition from home into their new classroom, they will be given the opportunity to visit their family posters, pictures, portable frames and books so they can feel a connection. These images displayed throughout the classroom serve as a springboard for storytelling, language development, and exploration of likeness and difference.

At dismissal Lily, Noah and Samantha enjoyed looking through and saying the names of their friends/classmates in the TBSCC Photo Book! Lily is new to our school and is learning the names of the children in the Tel Aviv classroom for the first time. Samantha and Noah were pleased to help Lily remember her classmates names.

TBSCC Band!

After a fun filled day outside at the Bike Rodeo, the children embraced a nice long leisurely lunch together! When lunch was over Hannah, Sarah, Eliza and Eli put on a music show with the instruments. They sang a few of our favorites...Down by the Bay, ABC's etc.

They invited the Bet Team in to join them. The Bet Team had a choice to be part of the show or the audience.

BLACK OUT NAME CALLING!

The Tel Aviv Class wore black today to symbolize how we are blacking out name calling. Our class was so excited to not only wear black but also this day helped them realize that what we have been learning about friendship is important to everyone no matter where you live or how old you are. The skills that we have been focusing on our life skills the teach us friendly ways to relate to others. I was pleased to notice how there was no name calling during our entire morning together. Great job Tel Aviv! However, the only picture we could get where the majority of the class was looking at the camera is this wonderful silly picture..but don't worry we aren't sticking out our tongues at you or calling anyone any names! We have learned better!

Lots and lots of vehicles!

Vehicles were a big hit today in the Rainbow class. Josh, Jack, Grayden, Rose, and Sophie each chose a different vehicle from the basket and decided they wanted to drive their vehicles on the table "because they move easier" said Grayden. The challenge was to not get in each others way as they were driving. It was fascinating to watch how they all navigated around each other without any accidents. What safe drivers we have in the Rainbow class!

"Kids on Stage" is a game the whole family can enjoy!

Today in Lunch Bunch everyone had a great time playing "Kids on Stage".
This game is a fun, creative way to encourage confidence, creativity and communication skills in young children. Everyone gets in on the act! Each player takes a turn acting out animals, objects or actions. It's a game the whole family can play and enjoy while the other players guess.
