It's a hit!

From the cool breeze to the bright shinning sun, to day was a picture perfect day for our 1st ever Summer Program Bike Rodeo!  The children took over the parking lot bicycling, scooting, and pushing!  Along with the rodeo, there was also bicycle decorations to be made, washing to be done and snack to be had for all!  It was a very successful first bike rodeo and we are all eagerly awaiting the next!

Sweet afternoon treats!

The afternoon Popsicles continue to be a cool ending to a fun day at our Temple Beth Shalom summer program!  We have been enjoying our end of the day treats outside in the summer sun with music each day and are always eager for more new requests!  Any fun songs you sing at home or in your car you'd like to share and recommend for us to add to our repertoire?

New room, new fun.

Olive and Harper enjoying the sandbox with a dinosaur.

Drew and Nathan completing a new 60 piece floor puzzle!

Max keeps our new horses safe and sound in their stable.

Sam C, Jared and Ben creating bridges and tunnels with Molly.
In our new Team Bet classroom, we have spent our first few days of summer exploring new toys, puzzles and areas of classrooms that we have not seen before!  Spending time in our downstairs sandbox, putting together new puzzles and creating home for new animals have filled our indoor choice time.  Our new room is a great source of excitement and continues to change everyday!

Ready, Aim, PAINT!

This morning, the teachers of Temple Beth Shalom welcomed students outside on the playground with their morning smiles, cheers and hellos, but today there was a new element added to the usual morning playtime! As friends began to gather near the pools, questions buzzed about the blue paper with weird drawings clothes-pinned to the fence. With aluminum muffin tins filled with paints and socks stuffed with light plastic balls, friends began to guess and understand what was about to happen! With delight and enthusiasm, paint-covered socks began to fly through the air towards the blue paper, and soon all the children participating began to ask if the drawings were targets, and I can tell you it did not take the any time at all to figure that out! Lauri and Laura were in on all the fun too! They each got down in the paint taking pointers and tips from the seasoned painting pros. Ryan perfected his wind up, while Allie and Josh went for the gentle under hand toss! (like sister, like brother) Jake looked like a Red Sox player with his over the shoulder pitch and Sarah went for a quick flick of the wrist! Overall, I think everyone- child and teacher alike- enjoyed painting the mural in our new fun way. I have a feeling this will not be the last sock painting of the summer! Our Temple Beth Shalom Children's Center sock painting mural is hanging up in the Adom Classroom over our chalkboard. Please come in and see the amazing painting any time you would like!
