Quiet moments

The Rainbows had a very busy and active morning. After snack, some of the kids gathered on the rug for a game. We sang the "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear" rhyme together and acted it out. Once the teddy bears were tucked up in bed and they finished with: "turn out the light!", the tired bears quietly rested for a moment. Each child patiently waited for a quick back rub before we started again. Maybe one of the Rainbow children will teach this game to you...

Fancy Nancy

Fancy Nancy! Our teacher Nancy turned fancy? No!!! Fancy Nancy is the name of the book which Sami brought to school to share with us. The main character, Nancy, likes to be fancy by wearing fancy clothes, speaking French, and going to fancy places. In the book, she said that her family is not fancy and wants her family members to join in on the fun. This book is all about their adventures. Sami also likes to be fancy and loves to show her teachers and classmates all her pretty clothes and tells us about all the fancy dresses that she has at home.Thank you, Sami, for sharing your book with us throughout the morning and at circle time.

Rainy Day Train Ride

Our train stopped by again on this rainy day. Ilan set up all the chairs and soon he had several eager passengers. Josh and Audrey wanted to help Ilan drive so they sat up front. Sami also wanted to help drive but decided that there needed to be more passengers. She kept looking back as they rode to see who they were going to pick up. No more passengers arrived so hopefully the Rainbow Room train will come by again soon!

What's a Dreidel?

Remember last Chanukah? Well, not surprisingly, many of the Levana children do not. Four months is such a long time in the life of a three year old! Today we read a book entitled The Jewish Holidays, and reminisced about all of the holidays that we have celebrated together this year. We talked about the songs we have sung, some of the special foods we have eaten, and the games we have played. When the question, "What's a dreidel?" was raised, we decided to revisit some of our Chanukah items, and had great fun spinning dreidels out of season.

Dag Maluach- A Game from Israel

This game had us in hysterics. As Rohan turned her back and counted in Hebrew, the children slowly walked towards her. When she turned around, it was time to freeze. Then comes the silly part. Rohan approached each child, trying to scare them and make them laugh. It was so hard to stay still! Enjoy the peek!
