Field Day!

First we all enjoyed a long Shabbat snack together! Then we had the opportunity to explore Avery Field! We found dandelions, insects and ran along the rocky path on the outskirts of the field! Some of the children initiated an imaginary game of baseball. Last but not least we all enjoyed playing parachute games!

Dancing Music

One of the many wonderful components Donna has brought to TBSCC is a vast collection of beautiful music. I've enjoyed listening to the array of pieces from my office. Today I heard soft, flowing music and went in to investigate. Eliana, Lucy, Sami, and Molly were creating an elaborate dance, alternating from individual movements to partners, and then merging into a circle. What an expressive group of dancers!

Monkey Bars

Sweet setup

There are no words to describe Lindsey's focus as the set the room for her baby.

The pink panter

This sweet group of children mixed red and white fingers paint, Surprise! They found out that pink is the result of the mix!

Avi exploring

Avi enjoys exploring our room.

Audrey and the pretend guitar

Audrey enjoyed pretending the cooking pan was a guitar!

Bennett and the box

Bennett was enjoying checking out the box in our room. With so many different latches and openings, there was a sense of anticipation as he opened the compartments to find something hiding inside.

Avi and Gabriel

Avi and Gabriel are enjoying the water table together! Even on these summer days when we have water play outside, the children still love the indoor water table. They can't seem to get enough.

"We Need A Plane!"

While the weather was looking a little gloomy out, Drew decided to take action! Explaining his idea to his friends, he was able to get help making an airplane. Everyone decided on a sunny place to go and took turns co-piloting the plane!

I did it!

Everyday Eli asks, "Can you help me go across the monkey bars?" He usually Eli steps off the ledge, as he is holding the first rung, then he asks for support all the way to the other side. Today I suggested that Eli try to get to the second rung all by himself. On his first attempt he made it to the third rung and then jumped down. He was so pleased with himself as he grinned from ear to ear! Eli climbed right back up to do it again! This time he made it to the fourth rung and the next time he made it all the way across!
Persistence... that's what it takes! Way to go Eli!

Exploring Nature!

The Gimmel Team went on a walk to explore in the woods! We found a variety of insects/bugs (beetles, worms, snails, ants). We brought magnifying glasses so we could take a closer look! Some children were comfortable looking at the tiny creatures from a distance and others were eager and ready to hold them in their hands.
The children climbed the long thick tree trunks, played house, climbed up and down the steep hills and lifted rocks to find bugs and insects.

How Do We Spell Summer?

We spell summer M-E-S-S-Y  fun. Ilan and Ally had the best time ever this morning in the sensory table with shaving cream. They smeared it around the inside walls of the table, up and down on their arms and even in their hair. It's the best messy, clean fun you can imagine.

Strong Climbing Arms

Lucy, Molly, Mia, and Eliana have been doing lots of climbing on the playground for the past couple weeks. Here, Lucy and Molly are demonstrating their arm muscles. Look how strong they are!

It's a hit!

From the cool breeze to the bright shinning sun, to day was a picture perfect day for our 1st ever Summer Program Bike Rodeo!  The children took over the parking lot bicycling, scooting, and pushing!  Along with the rodeo, there was also bicycle decorations to be made, washing to be done and snack to be had for all!  It was a very successful first bike rodeo and we are all eagerly awaiting the next!

The Bike Rodeo!

What a day of fun! There were bikes, scooters, a bike wash station, sidewalk chalk, a craft table, snacks and so much more! There were two wheel bikes, bikes with training wheels, bikes with horns, bikes with baskets, bikes with decorations and bikes with no peddles at all!
Both the TBSCC staff and the children all agree this was one of the best days ever!

Going to the Zoo

Ilan gleefully put animal puppets on each of my fingers. When he was finished, we sang "I'm going to the zoo, zoo, zoo. How about you, you, you?" When Audrey saw what we were doing, she joined us, putting puppets on my right hand while Ilan put them on my left. Then we sang once again.
