Another Fine (Motor) Example!

We have oil pastel crayons at our easel, to allow children to draw standing straight up working on a flat surface.  Using crayons or other drawing tools that are small enables children to work on their fine motor grasp.  Harold demonstrates how fun (and colorful) it can be to work this way.

  1. Thanks for this informative post! The other piece that our occupational therapist pointed out is that standing while writing helps children develop the muscles in the core of their body, much more effectively than writing while sitting at a table. Great that you are giving them multiple opportunities for this!
