We have started playing with colorful shaped blocks that snap together. In order to get the pieces to fit, you have to first match two different sides of the snap, then use both hands together to force them to shut. It's also fun to pull the built structures apart again. It's a little tricky, but if you focus and put in some effort, you can get it done. Just look at Graham concentrate!
We also have some new accordion tubes to put together. You can make long chains of them, or attach them to plastic boxes to make robots.
Lily says, "OH!" as she tries to put two together. You can see the long chain she has worked so hard to assemble. |
Graham concentrates as he builds his robot. |
We have filled our sensory table with dried beans and added spoons without handles to build our fine motor skills.
Inevitably, some beans end up on the floor at the end of the preschool morning. So, we practice our pincer grasp, and pick those beans up one at a time!
