Scientific Predictions

The Kohavim and Haifa boys and girls are lucky enough to share in learning environments. On one particular day last week the boys and girls were shown an envelope with a picture of some pea pods. They were asked what they thought was in the envelope. They were then asked to be scientist and make some predictions about how many days it would take for the pea shoots to grow?

Here are some of their predictions:  Abby thought they would take 4 days, Ryan 30 days, Jacob 3 days, Brett Stone 30 days, Max Greenstein 16 days, Ben 10 days, Zack 6 days, Nathan 21 days, Sam 25, Lizze 82 days, and Brett Ellerin 27 Days.

After ONLY four days we noticed some growth. Abby was very excited that her prediction was accurate.  The children documented what they saw. We will be observing over time. Children are noticing some differences and some similarities. Some are long, some are short. They are not all growing at the same height thought we planted on the same day???  Drew said " Everything grows". Yes it does because we are taking care of them.

Nathan, Drew, Jacob Darish from the Haifa class were sooo excited to observe the growth. Jacob Darrish siad we needed a "ruler so they could measure themselves."
