"He's Kind of Like a Magician!"

On this beautiful day back after spring break, the Haifa class was so lucky to have a surprise visitor: Grampy Ellerin came to class to do some magic!!! Grampy spends most of his days as a dermatologist named Dr. Phil, but likes to do some magic to wow people as well. He brought in a toolbox filled with a mix of magic and medical supplies. The children all took turns listening to their heart, seeing how our pupils change sizes, and trying to figure out how Grampy was able to do all of his magic tricks. The flowers out of the hat, changing animals, and card tricks had the children entranced! How lucky we were to spend this day after break with such an entertaining man!

Introducting TBSCC Graduate 2011 ~ Jonathan Ross ~

Nathaniel was very excited to introduce Jonathan to his classmates. Jonathan is in kindergarten this year at Newman. He read us a story Stuart Little at the Library. One would think going to the library would be a quiet restful time. Not the case in this adventure, Stuart goes to the library where he meets Bookworm, the Cat who wants to have Stuart as his next meal. Stuart has to think very quickly to find ways to keep Bookworm happy and himself safe. You may want to ask your children what clever ideas Stuart came up with. In addition to reading this wonderful story, Jonathan entertained us with a card trick. He asked Teddy Fox to select a card. Jonathan carefully placed the cards down in rows 2 x, carefully picking them up each time while inquiring which row the care was in. We asked Jonathan to tell us his secret, but he would not. A true magician never does. We are still wondering.

Nathaniel thank you for bringing Jonathan and Jonathan thank you for sharing your day with.
