While some children were making beautiful menorahs with glitter paint, others wanted to build one large menorah out of blocks. Matt had a vision and proceeded to create the menorah with help from Joshua, Sam, and Nathaniel. It was a creative and unique construction. Some of the other children said that it didn't look like a menorah. We then talked about the value of everyone being able to express his/her vision and creativity. The menorah may not look like a traditional one but it was beautiful and different from all other menorahs. The Kohavim children are planning to set up a museum in the class. This is a process which we are just beginning to talk about. The children love to create and to see their artwork displayed. Stay tuned for further developments as the process unfolds.
