Ilan was the Shabbat helper today in the Rainbow class. He took this special job very seriously: "Lighting" the candles, saying the blessing over the wine (grape juice), and placing his hands carefully over the Challah when saying the HaMotzi (blessing for bread). To make the experience even more special, Ilan and his big sister, Aviva helped their mom, Abby make the Challah from scratch. They added sesame seeds and cardamom (a spice from India) to give the Challah extra flavor. Thank you Abby, Orr, Ilan and Aviva for such a delicious treat!
Thanks for the awesome photos! Ilan was so excited to be the special Shabbat Helper. We have loved watching his development in the Rainbow classroom - from shy violet to life of the party. :) Ilan's making so many wonderful friends. We can't wait to set up tons of playdates after the holiday craziness abates!
