The Rainbows Turn Into Pizzas

A few weeks ago, Ellen came into the Rainbow class and read the book, "Pete's A Pizza" by William Steig. The book is about a boy who cannot go outside on a rainy day so his parents make up a game where they turn him into a pizza. They roll and pat him, sprinkle cheese, and spread tomato sauce on him, etc. Ellen gave each child a turn to pretend to be made into a pizza. Since then, we have read the book several times, and every child had a turn to be the pizza. Today, without any help from the teachers, the children decided that they were going to turn each other into pizzas...no wait a minute...hotdogs! Yes, the children changed the pizzas into hotdogs, and as you can see from the pictures they even used a little help from the menorah and candles. What a great way to use your imagination and play cooperatively, Rainbows!
