How do you float in the Dead Sea?

The question of the day was...How do you  float in the Dead Sea?   Everyone seemed to know the answer "SALT".   We talked about how the Dead Sea has a lot of salt in it.  Salt water is heaver (denser) than regular water and that is why it is easier to float in the Dead Sea.   After circle time the children had the opportunity to take part in a Float or Sink experiment.  One bucket had clear water and the other had lots of salt in the water.  The children were asked to pick  an object from the classroom and  "guess"  whether the object would float or sink.  Then they put their theory to the test!

  1. Eli has not stopped talking about his Israel trip. He told me today that you will all be flying back to school tomorrow. What a great adventure!
