kindness counts

On Monday, Lizzie had itchy eyes and needed to go home before the end of the day.  Throughout the rest of the morning, most of the children asked where she had gone, especially because her "picture" had been moved to show that she had "arrived".  We explained that she was going to get her eye checked and would hopefully be back on Wednesday.

This morning, Zachary Glazer and Lizzie were playing with sea creatures and shaving cream.  Lizzie said "Zachary, can I do this with you?".  Zachary replied, "Yes, do you want to be my friend?".  Lizzie enthusiastically replied, "Yes, I would!  I'm sitting right next to you!" (With a big smile on her face).

A few moments later, as they were busily working with the foam, Zachary said "Lizzie, is your eye better?".

What a special conversation!  Not only did Zachary and Lizzie show signs of friendship and courtesy, we saw compassion and concern, too!
