The Mitten

Today at lunch bunch our activity was based on the story "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. After reading the story, we used a big cloth to pretend it was the big mitten and each child pretend he or she was a different animal from the story and got inside the pretend mitten. It was very sweet to see the children choosing which animal they want to be from the story. Of course they chose me to be the bear who sneezed and all the animals (children) flew outside of the mitten.

We finished the activity by making and decorating our own mittens using felt. It was one good, back to routine, kind of lunch bunch.

  1. I love that book! I'll have to ask Adam what he thought. I like that the kids got to pretend to be the animals. How fun!
