Shabbat shalom
Sabrina, Noah, and Dylan us lead the Kohavim children in song and reflection. We cover our eyes welcoming the light of Shabbat as we sing... Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech haolam, Ahser kidshanu b'mitzvotav L'hadlkner shel Shabbat.
Noah led us in blessing of juice/wine raising up our kiddush cup in community together we sang: Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech h aolam bore per haggafen. Dylan led us in the HaMotzi. Ha Motzi lechem min aretz, we give thanks to God for bread. Our voices rise in song together as our joyful prayer is said. Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu Haolam, Hamotzi lechem min haretz.
Every week we stop and reflect about our blessings and things we are thankful for. Some children were thankful for "God, rainbows, Hannah, mommy and daddy, mom and dad, family, the trees, family and G-d, and roller coasters. Sometimes children send notes to loved ones in the spirit of Tzedakah. Today we remembered a "papa" who was in the hospital because something was wrong with his heart", but he is better now. Yes, much to be thankful for..
