It was a book making lunch bunch day. As we read and look at books we mention the authors, the illustrators, and often to whom the book has been dedicated.Many of the children have been illustrating beautiful pictures, writing, and dictating great stories. They were inspired to make their own books. Luckily we have the 'machine'. They followed the steps: collected 10 sheets of paper, two colored sheets~ one for the back and one for the front and proceeded to illustrate their books. We heard stories of tornados, different holiday books. They shared their books in meeting; sooo proud of their skills. Providing children with the opportunity to see themselves as 'authors' is the beginning of the love of learning and excitement of the process.
It's amazing how a book-binding machine can turn simple paper into a published book!
