This morning when Sauci and I walked into class, we noticed that there was a structure that had been built by a class that used our room after us. They had made a menorah and bedazzled cards wishing us a Happy Chanukah. Knowing who was in the classroom last night, I knew that it was a seventh grade Gesher L'Noar class that had done it, but I kept that information to myself.
As our students trickled in, they all were drawn to this new building in our class. I decided to sit down on the floor and listen to their discussion, only asking them who they thought could have made it.

Nathan and Jared offered the idea of Mayim making it. I told them that was a good guess, but that Mayim hadn't had class yesterday. As the group grew, someone told me that God must have made the structure! Then Sam G. told us that God lives in heaven and doesn't come down here. While I thought that would be a comment of contention, that was accepted as truth. Afterward, Olive offered the idea of owls being the creators, because they are nocturnal and the structure must have been created at night.
I loved watching the conversation develop in their young minds and that they collectively came to a decision about the creators of the structure!
