Shabbat's coming
The Keshet children enjoy sharing Shabbat songs every Thursday. Sometimes we sing "Getting Ready for Shabbat". The song involves putting various ingredients into the cooking pot for a special shared Shabbat meal. Today we brought it to life in a new way. Rather than stirring an imaginary pot, we passed the big pot from our housekeeping area and each child chose a food to add to the creation and stirred it in. We stopped to sample it from time to time in order to decide what flavors were missing.
