cutting, slicing and dicing

Today in Levana class, the children practiced cutting using scissors and sliced and diced using plastic knives. The kids made a tuna noodle casserole for Rosie's Place, in honor of the holiday Sukkot.
Ellen, Hayley and Samantha sliced butter and diced cheese to add to the pasta. They practiced fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, worked as a team and explored with food in a cooking activity. Afterwards, as every great chef does, they tasted their hard work. It was a hit!

Nicolas and Harold used scissors to cut pieces of colored paper to glue onto the Levana sukkah we have been working on in our classroom. With some hand over hand guidance and a lot of practice, the children of Levana will be heading towards perfecting their cutting skills in an enthusiastic and safe way.

Have a lovely rest of the holiday, everyone!
