Floating and Sorting and Working Together

We use our sensory table for many different purposes.  This week, we've been experimenting with colored foam beads and water.  The shapes float, and when wet, stick to the sides of the table.  We've also been floating different containers, and the children have been using them to sort the beads by shape and/or color.  Olivia likes to find the pink and purple shapes -- those are her favorite colors.

She also uses her hands to help push other color beads to another friend who is on the other side of the table.  It's tricky to push floating foam in the table -- we discovered that the beads might not go exactly where you want them to go!

Harold is separating yellow and blue beads.  (The colors in his shirt.)

It's fun to observe how they focus and work together.
