I am sure by now most of you have met if not at least heard of Aviva, who is our newest Scientist. Aviva, is helping us out while Barbara is at home recooperating from a back injury. Aviva loves to read books to the children. Often during free play a child will come up to Aviva with a book for her to read and before you know it she has lots of children surrounding her and listening to her read the story.
This week we put together a list of kind words for us to use in and out of the classroom. Some of the words that your children thought of are: nice, please, sorry, respect, like, thank you, caring and friend. During circle, we read books on our feelings and what it means to be a good friend. As you can imagine, this led to many thought provoking and wonderful conversations. Jayden said, "If a friend hurts themself you should ask them if they are ok." Becca suggested that "you ask children to play with you." Noah thought "being a good friend is important." Jeffrey added, "that we should all be friends and play together." Please feel free to continue these conversations at home.
We have been so lucky these past few days with the weather being so beautiful. So we are making sure that we schedule outdoor time into our busy day. The children are so happy to be outside with the bikes, running and climbing on the equipmnt. A few of them are really enjoying raking and piling the leaves into crates and then dumping them into mounds of leaves. Just as a reminder, please make sure your child has appropriate outdoor clothes since somedays are colder than others.
Enjoy your weekend!
