Ellen was cleaning for a change, and she found a bunch of plastic/wooden tools and some construction hats for us to play with. A few of the children dragged the big box filled with tools and hats over to the rug. Sam said, "Lauri look at this hammer, look at all of these tools!" I then asked the children "Are you construction workers going to fix something or build today?" Mia said, "We are going to build a new TBS, because there was a bad fire!" I then suggested they might want to use the wooden blocks for a change. Mia and Isaiah thought this was a good idea as they both said, "Yeah" and started taking the blocks over to the construction site! Then one by one the blocks were brought over to the rug. I sat down and listened to the children's conversation as they worked as a team to build the new Temple.
Mia said,"Let's build a pool!" I asked,"Is it an outdoor or indoor pool?" Mia said, "Outdoor!" Oliver chimed in with,"Let's build an indoor pool too!" Everyone came over to help rebuild TBS! The excitement of building the new temple carried over into the sanctuary, as the children could not wait to share the news about the new Temple with Rabbi Jay! The children got Rabbi Jay so exited to see the new TBS, after the Shabbat Celebration, he came down to our classroom to see the new Temple! The children told him that we took apart the Temple when we cleaned up for the day, and the teachers told him that over the weekend we would post a picture of the new Temple for everyone to view on the blog. Well here it is.
