Once a month the children have the opportunity to make challah to take home to share with their families for Shabbat. Last Friday there was so much going on in the block center(the rebuilding of TBS), that some of the children did not choose to make challah. Lexi however, was kind enough to offer to help the teachers make some extra challah, so everyone would have a challah to take home.
During our group Shabbat snack we reminded the children to take their challah home at the end of the day. Aden voiced concern ,"I did not make a challah"! Then Teddy Fox said, "I did not make a challah"! Then Lexi walked over to Aden and quietly whispered ,"Don't worry Aden I made you a challah". If you could see the grin on her face; Lexi was so pleased to help her friends. Thank you Lexi for being such a good friend! What a mitzvah!!
