The Levana children are learning that when we return to school each Monday, we all gather to celebrate Havdalah. We say good-bye to Shabbat, and hello to the new week. The children participate using multiple senses: they smell the spices (Joshua is handing out cinnamon sticks), they sing and dance, watch the flame of the candle and feel its warmth, and hear the blessings. They become thoroughly engaged in this ritual which connects us to Shabbat and to one another.

beautiful way to start the week! And such great pictures of Joshua!
