Bathing the Babies

Warm water, mild soap, and a few sponges transformed our sensory table into a bathtub for the Keshet baby dolls. Such a change from last week's Sea of Dinosaurs! Many of the Keshet children participated in the effort to clean up the babies, especially important as we were preparing for Shabbat. The children are learning to respect one another's space while working side by side, and to take turns with some of the items in the "tub." We notice the engagement in the children's expressions as they enjoy this play. Washing up is one of the ways in which we learn to take care of ourselves and of our classroom.

  1. My favorite part of this experience was when Ethan decided he wanted to sit down at the water table. He spent many minutes, carefully carrying a chair over to the water table and arranging it so he could work while sitting. Harrison saw this and came over. He wanted to sit next to Ethan, so he found a big tractor trailer truck and arranged it by the water table like a bench. What resourceful children!
