Havdalah in the Levana Classroom

Today the Levana children with Gabi's assistance, observed our first Havdalah of the new school year. Havdalah is the ceremony when we transition from Shabbat to the school and work week. The word Havdalah means separation. Just as we have candles and wine at Shabbat, we have them at Havdalah. Our candle is a braided one. In place of challah, we bless and smell the sweet spices. We end by singing "Eliyahu HaNavi".
