On Thursday during Lunch Bunch Avi, Ellen and Harold discovered an imaginary dragon in the Levana classroom. Running into the large cardboard box to get out of it’s way, they shouted, “There’s a dragon, hurry”. When I asked them if it was a scary dragon, the children enthusiastically shouted “No!” but they needed to get into the box and far away from it. They repeated this game numerous times with glee.
As the school year moves on, we see more and more group play. We watch as they gradually include one another in their imaginary fantasy scenarios.
