Dirt and Mud means a whole lot of bricks! (and fun!)

Today we made MUD in the sensory table!! We mixed sand, dirt, straw and water and created an ooey, gooey, muddy mess! The dirt was messy but the kids rolled up their slaves and dove right in, others who were a bit more concerned used plastic spoons to keep their distance. It was great to show kids that dirt can be use as a tool and as a mode of creation, it has a purpose beyond just getting us dirty!

It was fun to feel the texture of the mud and see how adding water changed the consistency. Once we were done experimenting with the mud itself we took spoons and filled up mini-milk cartons with our creation and let them outside to dry. Over the weekend the bricks will dry and we hope by Monday we will have some neat, mud blocks just like the Jewish people in the Passover story!!
We are very excited to build our own mini-pyramids!

  1. That looks like so much fun! I am so glad that they get opportunities to be messy! It's so great! And cool! And fun!
