Our friends in Levana enjoy cutting paper very much. Though it may seem very simple placing paper and scissors at a table, as an activity; the children strengthen several skills while participating. While cutting they practice motor skills, hand-eye coordination, muscle strengthening and body awareness, they also practice the correct way of holding the scissors while cutting. They learn to be aware of what direction the scissors are pointing, so they don't by mistake cut their fingers.
Also, the children practice scissor safety. Such as, don't run with them, leave them
at the table if they want to join a different activity and not to hold them near their own, or their friends faces.
